Organization of the Republican Party

Republican National Convention Delegates & Alternates are elected by Congressional District Conventions & State Conventions in Presidential Election years. The national convention was held in New York City in the summer of 2004. The next one will be held in 2008.

Republican National Committee N.C. National Committeeman Jim Cain N.C. National Committeewoman Linda Shaw National Committee Members are nominated at the Presidential Election Year State Convention in their states, and then elected by the National Convention

National Chairman Ken Mehlman & National Co-Chairman Jo Ann Davidson One woman and one man are elected by the National Committee

North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Ferrell Blount and Vice Chairman Linda Daves were elected in 2003 and serve until 2005.

Congressional District Committees District 9 Chairman is John Torbett & Vice Chairman is Iris Jacobson. 8th District Chairman is David Black. Congressional District officers are elected by the biennial District Conventions.

Mecklenburg County Republican Party County Chairman John Aneralla & Vice Chairman Lee Teague were elected at the 2005 Mecklenburg County Convention to serve until the biennial convention in 2007.

Precinct Chairman & Vice Chairman Precinct officers are elected at biennial (odd year) Precinct Meetings to a 2 year term. These are the people who could really use your help to get out the Republican vote in your neighborhood. Find out who your precinct officers are: contact@meckgop.com.
