Mecklenburg GOP elects new officers

Charlotte, NC - Today, the Mecklenburg County Republican Party elected new officers at the annual convention held at Zebulon B. Vance High School in North Charlotte. There were approximately 85 seated delegates as well as an additional 20 guests and visitors.
Lee Teague was elected the new Chairman of the MeckGOP, replacing John Aneralla who has decided to seek an alternative post within the GOP. Teague graduated from Clemson in 1985, and was on the campaign staff of two congressional candidates, Lt. Governor Jim Gardner, and served on the staff of an Idaho Senator as Assistant Press Secretary. Since moving to Charlotte in 1999, he has served as chair of the Young Republicans, PR chairman, secretary, treasurer, and most recently vice-chairman. He works in commercial real estate and is married with one young son.
Other officers elected at the Saturday convention include:
- Claire Mahoney as Vice Chairman,
- Warren Cooksey as Treasurer,
- Iris Jacobson as Secretary,
- Casey Viser as Legal Counsel,
- Tommy Roache as Precinct Organization Chairman,
- Alan Teitleman as Campaign Chairman,
- Mary Potter Summa as Recruitment Chairman,
- Linda Jones as Special Events Chairman,
- Bettie Ann Fry as Membership Chairman,
- Sheila Neisler as Public Relations Chairman,
- and Don Lochman as Finance Committee Chairman
The new board is comprised of a well rounded diverse group of Republicans representing all affiliate organizations and will be working hard to provide strong Republican victories in the 2007 and 2008 election season.
